Convenience. Disposable diapers can be changed anywhere.

ConsNeeds to be changed frequently.

Expensive, especially when newborns need as many as 7 diapers a day.
(Some cost as much as 50 cents per diaper.)

Inconvenient for night-time use or for an outing.

Different diapers are manufactured differently and every baby is different. The diaper brand that is most comfortable for one baby may not be the best for another. You have to try several brands to find the one that is comfortable for your baby.
