Whether it is the traditional black, green or white tea or herbal infusions, these healthful beverages awaken the taste buds with their own distinctive aromas. What's more, teas and herbal infusions are therapeutic in their own ways. Discover what health benefits you're reaping from your next cup of tea.

Benefits of Tea
Tea is rich in antioxidants that help protect our body from free radical damage. It owes its antioxidant properties to polyphenols, which are found in the leaves of Camellia sinensis (tea plant).

Besides its antioxidant actions, polyphenols are also known for their cancer-fighting properties. In addition, numerous studies have demonstrated that polyphenols help prevent blood clotting and reduce cholesterol levels.

Tea: White, Green or Black?
White, green and black teas are made from the leaves from a warm-weather evergreen tree known as Camellia sinensis. They are essentially derived from the same source and hence all of them provide antioxidant benefits.

The types of tea are distinguished by their processing. The more processing tea leaves undergo, the darker they will turn. White tea is derived from young leaves, and like the green tea, has undergone little or no fermentation. Black tea, on the other hand, has been fermented completely.
